2011 The construction of modern sanitaion facilities took off. With the first "pilote" project at Gebeye Dar Primary School, Hawassa, Southern Ethiopia, EDGET demonstrated a cost effective design and combined construction of 2 x 3 toilets, septic tank, plus an access point of water for children and in addition staff training on hygienic matters for sustainability matters. In 2008 an Edget Arts & Craft Shop was set up along the main tourist route of Awassa. The traditional African hut includes a café-restaurant and all profits are directed to the Edget Baandnet Food Programme to provide poor children of Awassa with two daily meals. ... more
